About This Contest:
Each of us has a story of impact, of change inspired by your personal idol, someone you want to be like, when you grow up. Their influence could have shape your life, and could potentially shape the life of those around you. Perhaps you’ve recently realized that you should share this, and have been waiting for the right time to act. Well, here’s your moment to shine! Tell us about the impact a world- renowned entity, or a national figure from current times or history has had on you – whether it’s evident in something that you’ve led or plan to make happen. Feel free to demonstrate this in an entertaining way that best reflects the community. Let your creativity shine and inspire others! Perhaps your video will be an interesting advertisement on behalf of your idol. Maybe you will reenact a specific experience. Possibly you are inspired to sing your story. Your video submission can use real people and animals, computer animation, hand drawings, play-doh, stick figures, food, costumes, figurines – whatever that allows you to demonstrate your community impact in an engaging, but tasteful way. Remember – your video will have a chance to be displayed at TEDx Sugar Land for community leaders and fellow citizens to witness, enjoy … and be impacted! So don’t delay - submit your today video that express how you’ve been impacted by your idol. Voting starts immediately, so the earlier your video is submitted, the more time your video will get to be viewed and voted upon.

Top 3 vote recipients will receive automatic admission in the 2012 TEDx Sugar Land on August 25th at Clements HS Auditorium. 3 winners will get to meet and have lunch with their favorite speaker the day after the event. Speakers at TEDxSugarLand 2012 are: http://www.tedxsugarland.com/speakers.htm At the discretion of the TEDx Sugar Land organizing committee, three videos will be selected from the top 10 vote recipients to be played during 2012 TEDx Sugar Land.

Rules and Requirements:
1. Anyone interested in participating can participate, however the winners (maximum of three) will need to have their home or office address in Fort Bend County, where the city of Sugar Land is located. 2. Each entry can comprise a team of three or fewer individuals. Each person may only participate on one team. 3. Ads can be tastefully funny or may have elements of irony, but anything obscene, morbid, or distasteful (as determined by TEDxSugarLand and Qukku, at its sole discretion) will be disqualified. TEDxSugarLand and Qukku will exercise complete editorial rights over all entries submitted. 4. TEDxSugarLand and Qukku encourage participants to consider the title “The Age of Wonderment” and correspond the creative aspects of the Ads to the theme. 5. Each Ad can be 30-60 seconds – anything shorter or longer is not advisable. 6. Top three winners will receive an automatic enrollment pass for attendance at the TEDxSugarLand event on August 25, 2012. In addition to a lunch with their choses speaker at a local SugarLand restaurant. Additionally, their Ad will be shown at TEDxSugarLand event. (Additional prizes may be announced in the next iteration of the rules). 5 more winners will be selected for ancillary prizes from our top sponsors of the event. 7. All selections by the TEDxSugarLand and Qukku crew will be final and based on the “potential of the Ad to raise public awareness for an issue of great importance”. 8. All entries (and commensurate Ad submission) will be only accepted if submitted under a Creative Commons license for general non-commercial use and reuse. *TEDxSugarLand and Qukku may at its sole discretion revise or change the rules listed above should the organizations find it necessary to do so. Such rule changes may be effected at anytime, including after the competition has commenced.
